Purpose
- Oxy-fuel (gas) welding rod (EN ISO 20378 O IV), molybdenum-alloyed — for higher thermal-demand tubes and sheets, with a slow, controllable weld pool.
Why it works
Molybdenum replaces the nickel of FERVEO GAS III as the alloying element, giving added strength relevant to elevated-temperature service — the same slow, controllable pool behavior as FERVEO GAS III, with more strength margin.
Fields of application
- Engineering structures, steam boilers, vessels, and piping, higher thermal-demand tube and sheet root passes.

Advantages
- Molybdenum for added strength in elevated-temperature service, versus FERVEO GAS III.
- Slow, controllable weld pool, same as FERVEO GAS III.
Limitations
- For true chromium-molybdenum steel service, see FERVEO GAS V, which adds chromium.
