Purpose
- Monel-type nickel-copper cored stick electrode (~AWS E NiCu-B, EN ISO E C NiCu-B1) — soft repair welding on lightly loaded grey cast iron.
Why it works
The copper added to the nickel gives the softest, most ductile deposit in the FERVEO FON family — specifically intended for gentle repair where avoiding cracking is the priority, not the joint's mechanical strength.
Fields of application
- Soft repair welding on grey cast iron.
- Filling and repairing lightly loaded cast-iron parts.

Cross-reference
| Replaces ENI 406 (Magmaweld) | Direct replacement |
| Replaces AS Pik-65 (Askaynak) | Direct replacement |
Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Advantages
- The softest, most ductile deposit in the FERVEO FON family — maximum crack tolerance for repair work.
- Good machinability after welding.
Limitations
- Requires specific technique: short beads and gently peening each pass with a hammer while still hot — skipping this greatly increases cracking risk.
- The lowest mechanical strength in the FERVEO FON family — intended for gentle repair, not structurally loaded joints (use FON Ni or FON NiFe for that).
