Purpose
- Aluminate-basic submerged-arc (SAW) flux, basicity 1.7 — pipe manufacturing, suited to bilateral and tandem (AC/DC) welding of high-strength steel.
Why it works
This grade's slag releases cleanly even while still hot, unlike fluxes that need to cool before de-slagging — a real advantage in the continuous, high-speed welding used on pipe-mill lines, where tandem AC/DC heads run one after another.
Fields of application
- Spiral and longitudinal pipe manufacturing, bilateral and tandem (AC/DC) welding, high-strength steel.

Advantages
- Slag releases cleanly while hot — suited to continuous high-speed pipe-mill welding.
- Good multi-pass toughness with a 2-pass technique.
Limitations
- Built specifically for pipe-mill production welding — for general fabrication, FERVEO FLX BAS/BFB are the standard choice.
