Purpose

  • Fluoride-basic submerged-arc (SAW) flux, high basicity (2.8), low hydrogen — double-wire and narrow-gap welding of thick plate and pressure vessels.

Why it works

The highest basicity among the FERVEO FLX family's general-fabrication grades (fluoride-basic system, versus the aluminate-basic FERVEO FLX BFPP) gives the best low-temperature toughness in double-wire/narrow-gap thick-section work — the step up from FERVEO FLX BFPP when pressure-vessel-grade toughness is required.

Fields of application

  • Pressure vessels, thick steel plate, double-wire and narrow-gap welding.

Mechanical properties

Process

Advantages

  • The highest toughness and lowest hydrogen among the family's general aluminate/fluoride-basic grades — the pressure-vessel-grade option.

Limitations

  • Fluoride-basic fluxes are generally less forgiving to weld with (narrower parameter window) than aluminate-basic types like FERVEO FLX BFPP — reserve for duty that genuinely needs this toughness level.
