Classification

Purpose

  • Fluoride-basic submerged-arc (SAW) flux, the highest basicity in the FERVEO FLX range (3.0) — multi-pass welding of high-strength low-alloy steel with the highest toughness requirements.

Why it works

Basicity 3.0 is the ceiling of the FERVEO FLX range — this grade is built specifically for multi-pass joints where toughness matters above all else, and performs best paired with a higher-manganese wire to get the most out of that basicity.

Fields of application

  • High-strength low-alloy steel, multi-pass joints with the highest toughness requirements.

Advantages

  • The basicity and toughness ceiling of the entire FERVEO FLX range.

Limitations

  • Performs best with a higher-manganese wire — check wire compatibility before use; like other high-basicity fluxes, less forgiving bead finish than the aluminate-basic grades.
