Purpose
- Rutile submerged-arc (SAW) flux, basicity 0.7 — single-pass welding of spiral pipe, LPG cylinders, and general construction, boiler, and shipbuilding steel.
Why it works
The rutile-type slag system gives an especially smooth bead with very easily removed slag, even in single-pass work — with lower flux consumption than the basic-type grades in the FERVEO FLX family, at the cost of less multi-pass toughness.
Fields of application
- Spiral-welded pipe, LPG cylinders, general construction, boiler, and shipbuilding steel, single-pass butt and fillet joints.

Advantages
- Low flux consumption.
- Very easily removed slag and straight, porosity-free beads — ideal for single-pass work.
Limitations
- The lowest-basicity grade in the FERVEO FLX family — for multi-pass work needing higher toughness, the more basic grades (FERVEO FLX BAS and up) are the better choice.
